Trade Learner Status (TLS) Application

Service Overview

Individuals who have been working in a trade without completing a formal apprenticeship may apply for Trade Learner Status (TLS) to formalise their training pathway and register as apprentices. TLS enables credit for prior experience within a structured apprenticeship programme.

ART-RAP

Recognition of Prior Learning for Artisans (RAP)

Artisans with significant workplace experience but no formal trade qualification may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to be assessed against the relevant trade qualification. The RAP process evaluates the artisan's competence against the trade requirements and may lead directly to a trade certificate without completing a formal apprenticeship.
