Primary Provider Accreditation
Training providers not yet accredited by any ETQA apply to merSETA for primary accreditation to offer qualifications and unit standards within the merSETA scope. Accreditation or programme approval is awarded against SAQA-registered qualifications, designated trades, or individual unit standards. The provider becomes quality-assured by merSETA as its ETQA.
Assessor and Moderator Registration
Individuals apply to merSETA for registration as an Assessor or Moderator for specific qualifications, unit standards, or occupational qualifications within the merSETA scope. Registration confirms the individual's competence to assess or moderate learner evidence and is a prerequisite for conducting assessments on merSETA-registered programmes.
Workplace Approval
Employers whose premises will be used as structured workplace learning environments for learners on NQF-registered programmes (learnerships, apprenticeships, WIL) must obtain workplace approval from merSETA. This confirms the workplace meets the minimum standards for structured learning under the relevant qualification requirements.
